§ Brief overview of the Bremen federated state
Bremen is the smallest federated state in Germany, which includes only 2 cities: Bremen and Bremerhaven. Bremen is a world-famous city because of the "Town Musicians of Bremen" fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Bremen and Bremerhaven are ancient historical cities in which sailors and artisans used to live; these cities are ports and are located on the Weser River, which connects these cities with each other.
Ports and warehousing play an important role in the economy of this federated state, millions of containers are annually handled in the city ports; yachts are also produced here. Fish processing enterprises are available there as well.
